Being Black in 2025: Faith, Identity & the Fight to Be Fully Seen

HomeBlogBeing Black in 2025: Faith, Identity & the Fight to Be Fully Seen

By Morey Strozier

Let’s be real.
Being Black in 2025 is still a battle.
But it’s also a badge.

It’s the tension between joy and justice.
Between being tired and still showing up.
Between knowing your worth and watching systems pretend you don’t exist.

And yet—we rise. We create. We love. We rebuild what they try to destroy.

I’m not here to sugarcoat what it means to be Black in America. But I am here to speak truth, life, and resilience into the people who are still fighting to be fully seen.

We’re Not Just Surviving Anymore—We’re Building

In 2025, Black resilience isn’t a reaction—it’s a movement.

I started Resilient Minds Family Services because our mental health matters. Our trauma is layered. Our families deserve spaces that understand both the struggle and the strength.

I opened Resilient One Med Spa because Black women deserve luxury, care, and healing—without apology. Wellness isn’t a privilege. It’s a birthright.

And I launched the Resilient One Foundation because we don’t just need reform—we need to own the systems we’ve been locked out of for generations.

Being Black in 2025 Means Wearing Many Hats—Sometimes All at Once

👩🏽‍⚕️ Therapist.
👩🏽‍🏫 Teacher.
👩🏽‍💼 CEO.
👩🏽‍👧‍👦 Mother.
👩🏽‍✊🏾 Advocate.
👩🏽‍🎨 Creator.

We are often the glue, the roots, the builders, and the protectors. But we also need space to rest. To breathe. To simply be—without having to explain ourselves or shrink our greatness.

We’re Not a Trend—We’re a Legacy

In 2020, the world had its “awakening.” But what happened when the hashtags stopped trending?

Many of us kept doing the work. Quietly. Relentlessly.

At Resilient One, I continue to build platforms for Black healing and visibility because I don’t want performative justice—I want permanent change. For my children. For your children. For every young Black girl wondering if her dreams are too much.

They’re not.
You’re not.

Faith Keeps Me Grounded, Even When the World Tries to Shake Me

To be Black and faith-filled in 2025 is revolutionary. It means I know where my strength comes from. It means I speak life over what the world calls cursed. It means I walk with a divine authority that can’t be stolen or legislated away.

To My People—This Is Your Reminder

  • You don’t need to shrink to survive.

  • Your story is enough.

  • You deserve joy, softness, and safety—not just resistance.

  • Your ancestors’ prayers built your path. Walk it boldly.

We are not just Black. We are resilient. We are radiant. We are the future.
